Grants
Using the EDGE grant for AI, automation and custom software
EDGE’s Automation & Digitalisation area covers more than off-the-shelf software. Its activities include customised enterprise-wide automation and large-scale digital transformation, and the second names AI, workflow automation and system integration among the technologies it supports. [1][3]
This page explains the rules in general. It does not tell you whether your project will qualify or how much you would receive. Enterprise Singapore decides that for each application. Twenty Growth cannot promise or guarantee any grant.
Updated
Which EDGE activities fit digital projects
- Pre-approved digital solutions for a single function, chosen from listed vendors. [1][2]
- Integrated enterprise systems (ERP) with at least three core functions, from a pre-approved vendor or your own. Enterprise Singapore states processing takes about 1 week with a pre-approved vendor and 10 weeks without. [2]
- Customised enterprise-wide automation. [1]
- Large-scale digital transformation across departments. [3]
The first two count towards the S$30,000 yearly cap for single-function solutions, integrated systems and pre-scoped equipment, inside the overall S$100,000 cap. [2]
What Large-scale Digital Transformation asks for
Support is up to 50% for SMEs and up to 30% for non-SMEs. [3] The project must:
- Show measurable impact on company growth and efficiency. [3]
- Strengthen core operations with technologies such as cloud platforms, data analytics, AI and machine learning, robotic process automation or workflow automation, or connect legacy systems to new ones. [3]
- Integrate or standardise work across systems such as business, sales and procurement. [3]
Not supported: automating an isolated task without wider change, basic IT upgrades, GST and maintenance costs. [3]
Documents and deliverables
- To apply: a project proposal, vendor proposals and quotations, financial statements for the last financial year, three-year projections of revenue and cost savings, and one-year projections of new jobs. [3]
- To claim: a project report, a demonstration of the deployed system with screenshots, training records where relevant and a final consultancy report. [3]
- Claims go through an auditor from Enterprise Singapore’s panel, engaged before you submit the claim. [3]
What this means for an AI project
A chatbot added to one task is unlikely to fit the larger activities, which ask for change across systems. A project that connects sales, operations and finance, and uses AI to remove the manual steps between them, is closer to what they describe. Enterprise Singapore decides each case.
How we prepare a quotation for a grant application
- The work is described exactly as it will be built, module by module, with estimated days and cost.
- Hosting, platform usage and maintenance are listed separately, since maintenance costs are not supported under Large-scale Digital Transformation. [3]
- We do not start work or take a deposit before your company has submitted its application.
Where Twenty Growth fits
We quote, build and deliver the software, and we describe the work in our quotation exactly as it is. We do not log in to the Business Grants Portal, submit applications or claims, or make any promise about approval or amount. Check the official pages below for the current rules; they can change.
